Structure – Ronchamp Chapel – Le Corbusier – France1955

The entire building is a concrete "shell" with columns embedded in the walls. The roof is concrete as well with columns supporting. The use of thick concrete walls allowed for a lot of freedom when laying out the plans. The roof is actually separate from the walls, allowing for clear story lighting conditions throughout the building.
