Spatial order, Mount Angel Library, Alvar Aalto, Oregon, 1972

The library is placed on a hilltop surrounded by trees. Aalto wanted the building to fit in with nature and not obstruct it, Thus he spaced the building from the trees to give them space. Along with that, he gave the façade a slight curve to make it look more natural with the environment and the hill.
