Spatial Order - Alison and Peter Smithson, Robin Hood Gardens 1972

During this time residential towers were being built as a symbol of progress after the war. The Robin Hood Gardens consisted of a long row of apartments and balconies and made circulation horizontal. This was created as a new form of social housing so the apartments were generic and similar to one another and had a centralized communal courtyard.
