Renzo Piano + Richard Rogers Centre Georges Pompidou 1977 -Spatial Order-

Designed as an "evolving spatial diagram" the architecture of the building boasts a series of technical characteristics that make it unique. It is distinctive in the way it frees up the space inside, with each floor extending through the building entirely uninterrupted by load-bearing structures. The whole of each floor is thus available for the display of works or other activities, and can be divided up and reorganised at will, for maximum flexibility. It used steel and glass and it externalised its load-bearing structure together.
