Program, Maisons Jaoul, Le Corbusier, Paris, France 1951
For these houses, Corbusier didn't strictly follow his five points the way he had for his early modern works. Some elements were still present but others were absent. He kept elements like the roof garden and kept his rooms open, but he accomplished it through loadbearing walls and vaults. This is a major adjustment in his philosophy as here he tried to fit his house into the style of the surrounding area, as opposed to bringing in his ideas which would stand out more. The local building code also helped him create the north/ south interior arrangement. He would also use modular systems and his ideas of proportion to get the spans of vaults and arches
