Program- Frank Lloyd Wright- Broadacre City/ Prairie House

Program

While the style was not exclusive to house's it was most commonly founded in his houses and less so in his non-residential buildings. The Prairie Style was often built around a central chimney that was surrounded with many open spaces as opposed to many wall defined rooms. Wright believed "reality of a building is not the container but the space within." He defined that by making the spaces within a connected by removing walls. Which follows another one of his famous ideas of "deconstructing the box".
