Corb treated each building element with its own unique complexity. The South wall tapers into a thickness of 10 feet thick with scattered window punch outs. These punch outs contain thick pieces of glass that glow with sunlight.

Another factor worth noting is that there are no decorative elements. Balanced combination of old and new. The newly constructed bridge that is next to the old both physically and metaphorically represents Scarpa trying to "bridge" the history and the new together. "Visual Logic" is what Scarpa called of the building's different parts, because of its constant sense of fusion between the old and the new. For example, the two new elements Scarpa inserted into the old facade: a gateway for boats, made of a highly textured woven iron within the existing heavy masonry wall.
