Detail Material - Robin Hood Gardens, Alison and Peter Smithson (1972)

 Built from precast concrete slabs, The perimeter wall was an acoustic wall that was higher than cars so noise is thrown back toward the road instead of allowing it to pass through towards the building. And to keep it from feeling isolated there are angled slits in the wall so if you were walking by you could see though but there is not a dirrect path for noise to travel.
