The robin hood building is in poor condition and is facing increased pressure to be removed. The mound in the center of the stress-free zone is made from the rubble of the previous buildings on the site. The irony is that since one of its key points of this stress-free zone was to pay homage to what once was the question remains if the Blackwall reach project will think well enough about the building to pay homage to it.

Another factor worth noting is that there are no decorative elements. The view provided by the wide openings along with the shadows cast by the narrow openings and skylights, and the texture of the concrete both combined, operate as the only ornamentation. Balanced combination of old and new. The newly constructed bridge that is next to the old both physically and metaphorically represents Scarpa trying to "bridge" the history and the new together. "Visual Logic" is what Scarpa called of the building's different parts, because of its constant sense of fusion between the old and the new. For example, the two new elements Scarpa inserted into the old facade: a gateway for boats, made of a highly textured woven iron within the existing heavy masonry wall.
